New nursery setting
28 October 2018
In January 2019 we are moving to a new setting, on the first floor of Runamokka, at 221 Whitley Road. We have made the decision to move out of Emma's house where we operate as childminders into a nursery setting, so that we can provide our nurturing, home-away-from-home service to a few more of the lovely families on our waiting list. Ofsted Outstanding
23 October 2018
On 4th October, we had our first Ofsted inspection, and we're very pleased to announce that we were graded as 'outstanding! We are excited to replicate many of the features that were graded as outstanding by the inspector in our new nursery setting from January (details to follow). The BAY Foodbank
4 December 2017
Over the past few weeks we have been collecting donations for the BAY Foodbank. Today we delivered several crates of food and gifts for those less fortunate. A huge thank you to all who contributed.
Little Acorns have talent
10 August 2017
Today professional singer Paige Temperley (who runs early years singing sessions at the Sage Gateshead) visited us to do some singing and dancing with the children. She was a big hit and we all agreed that she has a wonderful voice. Paige was impressed with the children's engagement and behvaiour during the sessions. Little Acorns have got talent!
Enrichment
21 July 2017
Each term we will dedicate one week to an enrichment activity, created to enrich the learning of the children at Little Acorns. We have Rockpool School, For Paws Animal Shows and professional singer Paige Temperley (who runs early years singing sessions at the Sage Gateshead) all booked in over the coming months.
New garden

We are very excited to reveal our new outside space. Here the children can play water games, engage in muddy play and get comfortable on our sofas for story and rhyme time.

Merry Christmas from Emma, Belinda and all of the Little Acorns! Today we had our Christmas Party which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! After our week of Christmas activities we're all feeling very festive!
Holiday Club

New Little Acorns

We have been meeting our new starters this week and have been getting to know all about them and their families. The children have been having fun painting and decorating their family portraits.
Ofsted registered!
25 September 2016
We are now officially registered with Ofsted! We're now ready to open and looking forward to our first children starting this week! Please get in touch if you would like to arrange to meet with us and visit our setting. We are now accepting registrations for an immediate start.
The classroom is ready

We have now finished decorating our classroom and filling it with a great range of books, toys and activities. We now have two dedicated spaces for the children ready for our opening (hopefully in the next couple of weeks!).
