Our Rooms
Our Acorn Room has been especially designed to provide plenty of space for our under 2 year olds as they begin to move around independently. Our Oak Room provides fantastic opportunities for our 2-3 year olds to engage in learning through creative play. We also have a designated preschool room, for 3-4 year olds.
Acorn Room
We have chosen toys and resources aimed at under 2s in this room. The three core areas of learning for under 2s are communication and language; physical development; and personal, social and emotional development. Our resources on this floor are aimed at promoting development in these three core areas. There is a wide array of sensory toys, to stimulate and engage your child while at Little Acorns. We also have a strong focus on singing, music and rhyme in this room, as this helps contribute to speech development. We therefore have a large selection of musical instruments and an Echo Dot to constantly play music, as music helps to stimulate learning. We additionally have a baby soft play area in this room, to encourage the physical development of our babies.
There is also a nap area with cots, a crib and floor cushions for your child to rest during their busy day at Little Acorns.
Oak Room
This room is a learning area for our over 2s, where we focus on delivering a varied, exciting and stimulating curriculum intertwined with the seven areas of EYFS. Our highly skilled staff plan a range of activities to engage the children, and we also encourage independent learning and spontaneous play.

We promote healthy eating, therefore, many of the children on this floor help with meal preparation, baking bread and setting the table for meals.

As we are an arts based nursery, we believe children learn through messy play and craft based activities. Our resources in the Oak Room are therefore geared towards learning through creativity.

Preschool Room
Once children reach the age of 3, they will spend some time each day learning in our preschool room. This is a small space for approximately 8 children, where we focus on skills to prepare your child for starting school, such as turn taking, listening to each other, circle times and basic numeracy and literacy skills.
